Summary of functions :
The Veteran Family Program Coordinator is responsible for receiving and processing requests related to social and psychological difficulties from members of the Veteran family community. The caseworker must welcome these people, assess their needs, orient their requests and refer them to the appropriate external resources as required. He/she also manages the transfer of requests to the psychosocial intervention team when a more in-depth assessment and/or formal follow-up is recommended. The Veteran Family Program Coordinator is a resource person for the entire MFRC team and external partners, for all questions related to the psychosocial difficulties experienced by Veteran families. He or she also plays an important role in developing and maintaining service links with local civilian and military organizations.

What is the Valcartier Military Family Resource Centre? It is an organization that assists the military and veteran community by offering various psychosocial services, employability and career development support, services for children (drop-in daycare) and youth (youth workers for youth aged 6 to 17), volunteer work and much more.
What we offer you as a team member:

- Job type: full-time, 35h/week
- Salary: $25.48/hour base.
- 13 days of statutory vacations
- After 3 months of service, you’ll have:

Profile required:
- College diploma in social work or any other related discipline or relevant field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in front-line intervention and needs assessment;
- Crisis intervention experience;
- Understanding the particularities of military life and the reality of veterans’ families;
- Knowledge of community, public and private resources;
- Applying the community approach and a preventive vision to intervention;
- Good analytical skills and judgment of problem situations and possible directions;
- Ability to create a climate of openness and trust;
- Ability to work under pressure and set priorities;
- Highly adaptable, autonomous and resourceful;
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams;
- Ability to conduct interviews in French and in English
